The Delhi unit of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) staged a protest near the Congress headquarters against Rahul Gandhi’s anti-Hindu remarks and demanded ‘Apologises’ from the Leader of Opposition in Lok Sabha. “The BJP’s struggle will continue until Rahul Gandhi apologises,” said BJP Delhi Chief Virendra Sachdeva.
Under the leadership of Delhi BJP President Virendra Sachdeva, on Wednesday, July 3, 2024, the Delhi BJP staged a massive protest near the Congress headquarters against Congress leader Rahul Gandhi’s statement calling Hindus a violent community and demanding an apology from Rahul Gandhi.
During the protest, the demonstrators broke through police barricades and attempted to march towards the Congress headquarters.
However, they were stopped at the second barricade.
Subsequently, the police detained BJP State President Virendra Sachdeva, MP Tejasvi Surya, State Yuva Morcha President Sagar Tyagi, and others, taking them to the Tilak Marg police station. They were released after receiving a warning.
While addressing party workers during the protest, Delhi BJP Chief Virendra Sachdeva accused Rahul Gandhi of insulting Hindu culture and labelling Hindus as terrorists, suggesting it was part of an electoral strategy. He asserted that millions of Hindus across the country would respond to this provocation. Sachdeva noted the contradiction in claiming that terrorism has no religion while simultaneously accusing Hindus of being violent in Parliament.

He argued that if Hindus were truly violent, temples would have replaced mosques in Kashi and Mathura by now.
e further claimed that Rahul Gandhi’s actions in Parliament were a calculated political move to position his sister Priyanka Gandhi to contest from Wayanad. Sachdeva criticised Rahul Gandhi for being influenced by Western civilisation and failing to understand Hindu culture, underestimating the strength of the Hindu community. He insisted that Rahul Gandhi has insulted Indian culture and must apologise to the people. Sachdeva vowed to take this issue to every household in Delhi to raise awareness of Rahul Gandhi’s statements.
Similarly, Tejasvi Surya remarked that when someone like Rajiv Gandhi describes himself as a Hindu by accident, such statements from his son Rahul Gandhi are unsurprising. Surya condemned Rahul Gandhi’s remarks labelling the entire Hindu community as terrorists and violent, calling it an unforgivable crime. He emphasised that the BJP would persist in its struggle until Rahul Gandhi apologises.
Surya also noted that the Congress Party attempted to blame Hindu organisations for the 26/11 terror attack, with Digvijay Singh even releasing a book on Saffron Terror. He pointed out that most of the riots in the country occurred during Congress rule, accusing the party of harbouring terrorism, which he claimed led to communal riots. Surya argued that Rahul Gandhi’s remarks are part of a conspiracy to insult the Hindu community, which has promoted harmony and peace for over 5000 years.
