BJP nominee from Khargone Lok Sabha Gajendra Patel casts vote with wife in Barwani

Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) candidate Gajendra Patel, contesting for the Khargone parliamentary seat, exercised his voting right during the fourth and final phase of polling for the Lok Sabha election 2024 in Madhya Pradesh.

Voting is underway in eight parliamentary seats of Madhya Pradesh, including Dewas, Ujjain, Mandsaur, Ratlam, Dhar, Indore, Khargone, and Khandwa, in the fourth phase of the Lok Sabha election 2024. The polling, starting at 7 am, will continue until 6 pm, as per the Election Commission’s schedule.

Accompanied by his wife Basanti Patel, Gajendra Patel arrived at a polling booth in Barwani district, within the Khargone Lok Sabha constituency, to cast their votes.

Encouraging voters to participate actively, Patel emphasized the significance of each vote, stating, “Today, I voted with my family in the festival of democracy. I appeal to all the voters of Khargone-Barwani Lok Sabha to vote for ‘heritage and development’, for the ‘security and respect’ of the country, and for the concept of ‘self-reliant and developed India’. Your every vote is decisive.”

Patel, the incumbent MP from the Khargone parliamentary seat, has been nominated again by the BJP, while the Congress candidate, Porlal Kharte, is contesting from the same seat.

Additionally, a considerable number of voters were observed queued up outside the Borawan polling station in Khargone district on Monday morning.

According to data released by the Election Commission of India, the Khargone parliamentary seat recorded a voter turnout of 15.35 percent in the initial trend till 9 am.

Madhya Pradesh is conducting Lok Sabha polls in four phases, with the first phase held on April 19, the second phase on April 26, and the third phase concluding on May 7.

The counting of votes is scheduled for June 4.

With 29 Lok Sabha constituencies, Madhya Pradesh ranks sixth among all states in terms of representation in the Lower House. Of these, 10 seats are reserved for SC and ST candidates, while the remaining 19 are unreserved.
