In Washington, DC, President Joe Biden addressed concerns over US election integrity, expressing hope that recent elections would quell lingering doubts and reassure Americans of a fair and transparent electoral process. Speaking on Tuesday, Biden emphasized, “The American electoral system is honest, fair, and transparent. It can be trusted, win or lose.”

Biden’s comments appeared to nod to former President Donald Trump’s persistent, unproven claims of fraud in the 2020 election. He encouraged Americans to “bring down the temperature” and see one another as “fellow Americans, not adversaries,” regardless of their political views.

The president also highlighted the dedication of election workers, commending them for safeguarding the election’s integrity despite challenging circumstances. “We owe thanks to the election workers who staffed voting sites, counted votes, and took on risks,” Biden said, describing many of them as volunteers motivated by patriotism.

With just weeks remaining in his term, Biden reaffirmed his commitment to fulfilling his constitutional duties and respecting the nation’s democratic traditions. He confirmed that, on January 20, a peaceful transfer of power would take place, underscoring America’s enduring dedication to democratic principles. “I will fulfill my oath and honor the Constitution,” Biden concluded, looking ahead to the transition.
