BCCI office bearers on Thursday presented Team India with a cheque of Rs 125 crore at Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai.

Previously, BCCI (Board of Control for Cricket in India) secretary Jay Shah took to X to announce the prize money of Rs 125 crores for India after the T20 World Cup.

India secured a remarkable win to end their 11-year ICC trophy drought by clinching the T20 World Cup for the second time in their history. In an exhilarating final against South Africa at the Kensington Oval in Bridgetown, Barbados, India posted a formidable total of 176/7, marking the highest team score ever in a T20 World Cup final. Virat Kohli was pivotal with a crucial 76-run innings, supported by Shivam Dube, who contributed 27 runs at the end.
