Out of the 200 legislative assembly seats in Rajasthan, Anta is one. It is an agricultural-dominated area in Hadoti. Due to the presence of NTPC, this region is also called the Energy City. One side of Anta borders Kota, while the other side is adjacent to the border of Madhya Pradesh. After the delimitation in 2006, combining 24 Gram Panchayats of Baran district and 18 gram panchayats of Mangrol, the Anta legislative assembly seat was formed. Once under the control of the BJP, it is currently under the control of the Congress. This seat is considered significant because winning candidates from here often get a place in the cabinet. Presently, the Congress MLA on this seat is Pramod Jain Bhaya, who is also the Mining Minister of the state. Looking at the political history of this seat in the last 15 years, it has alternated between the Congress and the BJP in elections. So far, whoever has won from Anta has become a minister in the government. In 2008, Congress’s Pramod Jain Bhaya became the MLA from Anta. In 2013, the public blessed BJP’s Prabhulal Saini with victory. Then, in 2018, Congress returned to power on this seat, and Pramod Jain Bhaya won the election again. After that, he was made the Mining Minister in the Gehlot government. Talking about the demographics of the Anta legislative assembly seat, the total number of voters here is more than 2,13,000, with the highest number of votes from the Meena community, totalling 30,000. The Mali community comprises 25,000 voters, and there are approximately 18,000 Muslim voters in this constituency. The number of voters from the Scheduled Caste community is around 35,000.
Apart from this, there is also an impact of Brahmin, Dhakad, Nagar, and Mahajan voters here. However, if we talk about the issues of the Anta legislative assembly constituency, there is a need for basic facilities in this assembly. Law and order and women’s safety are significant issues in this region. Roads are broken, and many villages are not connected to the headquarters. There is a shortage of doctors and staff in hospitals. Administrative offices also lack staff, causing inconvenience to the public. Additionally, illegal mining and unauthorized transportation are major problems in this area. Electricity does not arrive on time in this region. Government schools here lack teachers, leading to a lack of quality education for students.
Now, let’s discuss the claims of the MLA. MLA Pramod Jain Bhaya claims that he has not left any stone unturned in the development of Anta. He asserts that he has spent Rs. 19 crores and 50 lakhs for developmental projects under the MLA quota. He highlights the historical work done for the district and the region by the Gehlot government. During his tenure, the approval for the construction of a medical college was obtained, and significant water projects were implemented in the area. He states that all sectors related to the common people in Anta have seen substantial progress.
On the other hand, some people say that Pramod Jain Bhaya is a supportive leader who stands by everyone in their joys and sorrows, and he has done well for the development of Anta, especially in the fields of education and healthcare. However, some others argue that Pramod Jain Bhaya has not undertaken any development work in the Anta region. Illegal mining has increased, leading to frequent accidents, and there has been no visible impact of any work on the ground.
