On Monday, Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma attended the opening day of the Autumn Session at the newly built Assam Assembly Building in Dispur.
The Assam Legislative Assembly’s five-day Autumn Session began on Monday.
other laws, including the Panchayati Raj Amendment Bill and other university bills, will be introduced during the session.
For the five-day assembly session, strict security precautions have been planned. Earlier, on July 30, Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla dedicated the new Assam Legislative Assembly building in Guwahati.
Birla compared the new Assam Legislative Building to the recently inaugurated New Parliament Building, noting that it was not just a symbol of Atmanirbhar Bharat but also an expression of the new self-reliant Assam.
“The new building built for modern requirements using the latest technology is equipped with the latest amenities and boasts of state of the art facility and at the same time exhibits facets of diversity of culture exhibiting Assam’s rich heritage”, Birla said.
The event was attended by Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma, Assam Assembly Speaker Biswajit Daimary, Sarbanand Sonowal, Minister of State in the Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas Rameshwar Teli, and other dignitaries, lawmakers, and representatives from various political parties.
