An official stated on Monday that at least eight persons were hurt when a car crashed with a minivan in the Goalpara district’s Dhupdhara sector.
Locals raced to the scene on Sunday night, rescuing the injured and transporting them to local hospitals, he added. Five of the injured were admitted to Dhupdhara Model Hospital, while three of the most seriously injured were transported to Goalpara Civil Hospital.
According to senior doctor Lily Phukan, all eight injured people were initially admitted to Dhupdhara Model Hospital, but due to their critical condition, three victims were transferred to Goalpara Civil Hospital. Previously, at least three individuals were killed in a head-on collision between a truck and a motorcycle in Assam’s Dhubri district’s Gopalganj area.
The accident happened on National Highway 17 near Gopalganj Belguri. Jahirul and Naseer have been recognized as the deceased. According to a police officer, the three people on the bike perished on the scene after colliding with a truck traveling from the opposite direction.
The truck was confiscated by police, but the truck driver fled the scene after the crash.
