Arms, Ammunition recovered in Rajouri: J&K Security forces

Security forces in Jammu and Kashmir discovered numerous rounds of arms and ammunition in the Thannamandi area of Rajouri, Jammu and Kashmir, on Sunday.

The Special Operations Group (SOG) Rajouri, in conjunction with 61 Rashtriya Rifles, conducted the search operation.

In the course of the search operation, the security forces recovered 1 packet of 1 kg IED, seven packets of half kg IED, two wireless sets, three magazines of AK47, one ammunition pouch, 102 rounds of AK-47, and one charger. The investigation into the matter is ongoing.

The Jammu and Kashmir Police dismantled a terrorist hideout in the Arnas area on Saturday, seizing a significant cache of arms and ammunition. Among the items recovered were two detonators, 12 cartridges of Assault Rifle, one pull-through, one hand-held Tape recorder IED Enabled, one calculator IED enabled, one battery, and several connecting wires, as per police reports.

During a collaborative search operation by the J-K Police, Army, and the CRPF on April 17, an improvised explosive device (IED) was discovered in a terrorist hideout in the Gursai top area of Poonch district.

Earlier, security forces uncovered arms and ammunition in a terror hideout in Jammu and Kashmir’s Reasi district on Saturday.

Officials stated that the hideout was dismantled during a collaborative operation by the Jammu and Kashmir Police and the Indian Army’s 58 RR in the Lancha area of Mahore sub-division in Reasi.
