Users of the tech giant Apple will start receiving the much-anticipated software updates for the 5G network in India next week.

The service will launch at the same time that Apple releases the iOS 16 beta software update. On October 1, India declared the beginning of 5G services.

Customers of Airtel and Reliance Jio can use Apple’s beta software programme on any model of the iPhone 14, iPhone 13, iPhone 12, and iPhone SE (3rd generation) to experience 5G service.

Anyone with an active Apple ID who accepts the terms of the Apple Beta Software Program Agreement during the registration procedure is eligible to participate in the programme.

Before the software is made more widely available, customers can test out beta versions and use the newest features.

Users are encouraged to give Apple comments on usability and quality so that Apple can find problems, correct them, and improve its software.

Users of iPhones can enrol their device in the Apple Beta Software Program to gain access to the most recent public betas as well as future updates, such as the 5G beta that will be made available to Airtel and Jio subscribers starting next week.

Users can sign up for the Apple Beta Software Program and have access to the most recent public betas on their iPhone, iPad, Mac, Apple TV, HomePod mini, or Apple Watch.

Earlier in October, Apple said in a statement, “We are working with our carrier partners in India to bring the best 5G experience to iPhone users as soon as network validation and testing for quality and performance is completed.”
“5G will be enabled via a software update and will start rolling out to iPhone users in December,” it added in the statement.

In the middle of August, the government asked telecom service providers to get ready for the launch of 5G services by sending them letters allocating spectrum.

Bharti Airtel previously stated that it would reach all of urban India by 2023 and that “Airtel 5G Plus” services had been introduced in eight cities, including Delhi, Mumbai, Chennai, Bengaluru, Hyderabad, Siliguri, Nagpur, and Varanasi.

Reliance Jio has also declared that it will introduce 5G telecom services by this year’s Diwali in a number of significant cities, including Delhi, Mumbai, Kolkata, and Chennai. By December 2023, which is less than 18 months from now, it plans to extend its 5G network to every town, tehsil, and taluka in the nation.
