Academy Award-winning actress and filmmaker Angelina Jolie will be honored at the upcoming Toronto International Film Festival. According to Deadline, Jolie is set to receive the TIFF Tribute Award in Impact Media on September 8 during the festival’s fundraising event. Additionally, she will present her latest film, Without Blood, for its world premiere at the festival.

Academy Award-winning actress and filmmaker Angelina Jolie will be honored at the upcoming Toronto International Film Festival. According to Deadline, Jolie is set to receive the TIFF Tribute Award in Impact Media on September 8 during the festival’s fundraising event. Additionally, she will present her latest film, Without Blood, for its world premiere at the festival.

Without Blood is a war drama adapted from Alessandro Baricco’s novel of the same name and features Salma Hayek and Demian Bechir. The TIFF Tribute Award in Impact Media, presented by Anne-Marie Canning, celebrates individuals who bridge the gap between social impact and cinema. Alongside Jolie, other recipients at the TIFF fundraiser include Amy Adams, Cate Blanchett, Durga Chew-Bose, David Cronenberg, Clement Ducol, Camille, Jharrel Jerome, Mike Leigh, and Zhao Tao. Sandra Oh will serve as the inaugural Honorary Chair for the event.

TIFF CEO Cameron Bailey praised Jolie, saying, “Angelina Jolie is a multifaceted talent who has entertained audiences for decades while consistently using her platform to champion important causes. We’re honored to present her with the 2024 TIFF Tribute Award in Impact Media.” Bailey highlighted Jolie’s exceptional filmmaking achievements and her commitment to positive change, emphasizing her role as a prominent humanitarian.

Jolie, known for her humanitarian efforts and dedication to social justice, has been recognized for works such as Unbroken and In the Land of Blood and Honey. She last participated in TIFF in 2017 with her film First They Killed My Father.
