Two Anganwadi workers in Koppal district have been suspended after a shocking video surfaced online. The footage showed the workers serving eggs to children during a midday meal, only to take them back after capturing the moment on camera.
The incident sparked outrage on social media, prompting swift action from authorities. Eggs are a mandatory part of the nutrition-rich meal provided to children in government schools and Anganwadis.
The Women and Child Development Department took immediate steps, suspending the workers for dereliction of duty. An investigation is underway.
Karnataka’s Women and Child Development Minister, Laxmi Hebbalkar, condemned the act, vowing strict action against those responsible. She emphasized the importance of providing quality nutrition and education to underprivileged children.
