There were numerous heartfelt moments at the recent wedding of Anant Ambani and Radhika Merchant, but one particularly touching scene stole both our hearts and the spotlight: Anant’s beloved pet, Happy, donning a charming sherwani, stood by as Anant and Radhika exchanged their vows.

Happy holds a special place within the Ambani family, reflecting Anant’s deep affection for animals, a sentiment that extends to many others under his care.

Nita Ambani Recounts Touching Story

Anant Ambani’s fascination with animals began at a young age. In a widely circulated video by @vantarareliancefoundation, Nita Ambani, Anant’s mother, fondly recounts a touching story from his childhood.

At just two years old, Anant demonstrated his compassion by rescuing a group of hens from Crawford market. This early display of kindness towards animals has remained a consistent theme throughout Anant’s life, shaping his profound love and empathy for them.

Motivated by his passion for animal welfare, Anant embarked on a significant journey to establish Vantara, a renowned wildlife preservation initiative. Today, Vantara serves as a sanctuary for a diverse array of wildlife. It provides a safe haven for 200 elephants, more than 300 large felines including leopards, tigers, lions, and jaguars, as well as over 300 herbivores such as deer. The sanctuary also houses over 1200 reptiles, encompassing crocodiles, snakes, and turtles. Each resident at Vantara stands as a testament to Anant’s steadfast vision and dedication to animal welfare.

As Anant begins this new chapter in his life, we anticipate that his commitment to animal welfare will only grow stronger.
