Home Minister Amit Shah, speaking at a rally in Moradabad, Uttar Pradesh, urged voters to ensure the BJP’s victory on all 80 Lok Sabha seats in the state. He praised Uttar Pradesh for playing a crucial role in the BJP’s past electoral successes, noting that the state provided 73 seats in 2014 and 65 seats in 2019, leading to PM Modi’s election both times.
Shah emphasized the importance of Uttar Pradesh in securing a third term for PM Modi, saying, “This time, all 80 seats will go to Modi’s kitty.”
He urged voters to participate actively in the upcoming election, comparing the first phase in western UP to a “baby swing” that sets the tone for the rest of the state. Shah highlighted PM Modi’s economic achievements, stating that under his leadership, the country’s economy has risen from 11th to 5th position globally, with a promise to make it the 3rd largest if re-elected. The Lok Sabha election will be held in seven phases starting April 19, with Moradabad going to polls in Phase 1 on the same day. The results will be announced on June 4.
