On Friday, BJP leaders slammed National Conference leader Farooq Abdullah’s recorded discussion with a reporter in which the J&K leader asked the female journalist when she would marry. Making an assault on the INDIA bloc since Farooq Abdullah is a seasoned leader of the opposition coalition, BJP’s Amit Malviya remarked in the video that the former J&K CM was at his disgusting best.

“The reporter is perhaps his granddaughter’s age or younger. But that doesn’t stop him from asking uncomfortable questions like when will you get married? Did you choose your husband? Will your parents choose your husband or you? Why is this (Mehndi) on your hands?” Amit Malviya tweeted along with the video.

Farooq Abdullah inquired on a lighter note whether the marriage would endure or whether the wife would depart as the woman revealed that the mehndi was for her brother’s wedding.

The interaction, according to BJP national spokesperson Shehzad Poonawalla, was not only unprofessional but also terribly misogynistic and repulsive.

“But not surprising from an alliance that boycotts journalists who ask questions & treats them like this,” Poonawalla said connecting this with the INDIA bloc’s boycott call of a group of journalists.

The INDIA bloc on Thursday unveiled a list of 14 television journalists who will be boycotted by the INDIA leaders. Aditi Tyagi, Aman Chopra, Amish Devgan, Anand Narasimhan, Arnab Goswami, Ashok Shrivastav, Chitra Tripathi, Gaurav Sawant, Navika Kumar, Prachi Parashar, Rubika Liaquat, Shiv Aroor, Sudhir Chaudhary, and Sushant Sinha are among the names on the list.

“Will the loudmouth pravaktas of INDI alliance & especially Congress now defend this creepy behaviour with a young woman in full public view? At the very least they must boycott this serial , obnoxious womaniser,” Poonawalla tweeted.

Farooq Abdullah paid a visit to the home of DSP Humayun Bhat, who was killed in the Anantnag firefight on Wednesday. Farooq Abdullah remarked of the four bravehearts’ deaths, “I don’t see the end of this (encounters).” We was an encounter today in Rajouri; there are encounters every day in Kashmir. The administration (Centre and J&K) proclaims on a daily basis that militancy (in Kashmir) has ended. “Can you tell me if militancy is over?”
