Accused Samar Singh on Friday was nabbed from Charles Crystal Society of Rajnagar Extension by Ghaziabad and Varanasi police.
Police will present Samar Singh in Ghaziabad court, after which he will be handed over to the Varanasi police on transit remand.
According to DCP Nipun Agarwal, Ghaziabad Police, “Varanasi Police came to Ghaziabad on Thursday and took him into custody from a society near Morta village located in Nandgram police station area in Ghaziabad.
Akanksha’s mother Madhu Dubey accused the late actress’s alleged boyfriend, Samar Singh of abetting the suicide. He had been absconding ever since. Reportedly, Samar was planning to fly abroad. When the cops got to know about this, they informed all the airports to identify him and not let him leave the country.
According to reports, Varanasi police, with the assistance of Ghaziabad, arrived at 1 p.m. in the Charms Castle Society of Nandgram area where they arrested Samar Singh after questioning the people who were with him.
Akansha Dubey committed suicide by hanging herself in a hotel in Varanasi on March 26. In this case, on the complaint of the family, a case of 306 IPC was registered against Samar Singh. Since then, Samar Singh was absconding and the Varanasi police had received information about him being in Ghaziabad, after which the Varanasi police raided the NandGram police station area late at night.
