AAP’s Malvinder Singh Kang Vows to Uphold Party’s Public Service Principles in Lok Sabha 2024 Candidacy

Following his selection as the candidate for the Lok Sabha elections 2024 from the Anandpur Sahib constituency, Aam Aadmi Party leader Malvinder Singh Kang expressed his commitment to advancing the party’s principles focused on public service.

Malvinder Singh Kang, who parted ways with the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in 2020 due to disagreements over the farm laws, joined the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) in July 2021.

While speaking to ANI, Kang said, “They trusted a simple worker of the party like me. By giving me the Lok Sabha seat, Arvind Kejriwal and Punjab CM Bhagwant Mann have increased the respect of party workers. We aim to uphold the core principles of the Aam Aadmi Party, centered on serving the public good. Our focus is on promoting transparent and ethical politics of the Aam Aadmi Party. We will go door-to door in Anandpur Sahib to appeal for votes”.

AAP unveiled an additional list of two candidates for Punjab for the 2024 Lok Sabha elections on Tuesday.

Dr. Raj Kumar Chabbewal, a two-term MLA from the Chabbewal assembly constituency, has been nominated as the candidate for the Hoshiarpur Lok Sabha constituency, while Malvinder Singh Kang has been chosen for the Anandpur Sahib constituency.

On March 14, AAP revealed its initial list of eight candidates for the Lok Sabha elections from Punjab.

The lineup featured five cabinet ministers: Gurmeet Singh Khudian for Bathinda, Kuldeep Singh Dhaliwal for Amritsar, Laljit Singh Bhullar for Khandur Sahib, Gurmeet Singh Meet Hayer for Sangrur, and Dr. Balbir Singh for Patiala.

Former MLA Gurpreet Singh has been nominated for the Fatehgarh Sahib seat, while Karamjeet Anmol has been named as the candidate for Faridkot. Punjab has a total of 13 Lok Sabha seats, including four reserved for Scheduled Caste (SC) candidates.

During the 2019 Lok Sabha Elections, the Congress-led UPA alliance secured 8 seats, while the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) managed to win four. Additionally AAP, contesting for the first time in the state, secured one seat.
