The “Wonka” star, attempting to go incognito in a mask and baseball cap, mingled with attendees and interacted with two of his lookalikes, much to the crowd’s delight. The event, hosted by YouTuber Anthony Po, drew a substantial crowd and offered a $50 prize to the best Chalamet lookalike, with thousands signing up online to attend.

Participants not only dressed like Chalamet but also answered questions reflecting his French heritage, aspirations for global change, and opinions about Kylie Jenner, rumored to be dating the actor. Ultimately, 21-year-old Miles Mitchell from Staten Island claimed the top prize, donning a Willy Wonka costume and entertaining onlookers by tossing candy from a briefcase.

The event was briefly disrupted as one impersonator was escorted away by police due to the large turnout, prompting organizers to relocate the crowd.

This surprise appearance comes on the heels of the trailer release for “A Complete Unknown”, Chalamet’s upcoming Bob Dylan biopic.
