An official reported on Monday that a bus traveling from Haryana collided with a ditch in the Nainital district, killing at least seven people—five women, one man, and one child. A State Disaster Response Force (SDRF) official reported that additional rescue operations are in progress and that 28 people have so far been saved. According to them, the SDRF has recovered and given the civil police the bodies of the deceased.
According to the officials, the Disaster Control Room in Nainital notified SDRF on Sunday that a bus thought to be carrying 30 to 33 people had crashed into a ditch at Nalni on Kaladhungi Road.
On the above information, as per the instructions of Commandant SDRF Manikant Mishra, SDRF rescue teams from Post Rudrapur, Nainital, and Khairna immediately left for the spot for rescue.
