This will be the first meeting conducted since the Lok Sabha elections and Nirmala Sitharaman assuming charge as the finance minister.
But the agenda of the meeting is not yet public amongst council members, but as per News18, the council might discuss various topics like rate rationalization, compliance rules and measures and ITC reforms etc.
Meanwhile, the previous 52nd meeting of GST council was held on October 7, 2023. In the meeting, 28 percent of GST rate was levied on casinos, horse racing and online gaming.
