Haryana government has expanded the state cabinet giving an end to all speculations. Kamal Gupta and Devender Babli from the BJP and the JJP were given berth in the cabinet respectively. Kamal Gupta has been given the charge of Urban Local Bodies (ULB) which was headed by the Home Minister Anil Vij earlier. Shifting the ULB department from Vij to Kamal Gupta annoyed him and the whole issue has become the talk of the town these days across the state. Even, the party high command is in the touch with the Chief Minister Manohar Lal and Vij so that the widened rift can be filled up and the issue sorted out peacefully which seems an uphill task.
It is pertinent to mention that prior to assigning the departments to newly appointed ministers, it was in the centre of discussion that one or two of the departments headed by Vij may be given to new minister. The speculation proved true to some extent as Vij maintained a distance from the oath taking ceremony held on December 28, 2021 here in Rajbhawan.
Following aforesaid incident , the Chief Minister was reported meeting the party high command in Delhi on December 29, 2021. Manohar Lal showed his strength one again as despite the resentment of the Vij, he succeeded in giving this department to Kamal Gupta. Everyone is familiar with the fact that Manohar Lal is in good books of the Prime Minister Narender Modi along with senior party leaders.
In this series, it is worth stating that presently Vij is having a close eye on ongoing scenario. No one can deny that Vij is known a minister who used to speak frankly on all issues, be it about his party’s leadership or issues related to commoners.
Apart from Kamal Gupta, JJP’s Devender Babli has been assigned the responsibility of Panchayat and Development department as independent charge along with the Archaeology and museum wing.
What is of the utmost importance to mention here is that the state cabinet minister and JJP legislator emerged a heavy weight minister after he has been attached with the Deputy Chief Minister Dushyant Chautala in many departments.
