In a horrific incident that has sent shockwaves through the community, the brutal murder of 25-year-old Akshay Kumar unfolded live on Instagram in the Ramgarh area of Samba district on Christmas evening.
During an unsettling 6-minute Instagram Live broadcast, the assailants, numbering 3-4, not only confessed to the killing but also callously exhibited Akshay Kumar’s severed hand. The perpetrators, armed and seemingly untroubled, brandished pistols believed to be the murder weapons and fired shots in the surroundings. Operating under the account ‘Abbu Jatt,’ the killers showed lack of fear for law enforcement.
The audacious criminals, making a swift getaway in a hatchback car, continued their live stream even as a Police vehicle closed in. The video captures the chilling moment when they managed to evade the approaching authorities, emphasizing a concerning level of impunity.
The Instagram Live session provided crucial leads for law enforcement. The identified individuals, Abbu, Shunnu, and their associate Shikku, were seen fleeing as a Police flying squad arrived at the scene. In a shocking twist, the killers alleged that their actions were a preemptive strike, claiming Akshay Kumar was a threat to their associate’s life.

Speaking to The Daily Guardian, Senior Superintendent of Police Samba Benam Tosh said that investigation is underway in the case and teams have been formed to nab the accused. “We are investigating the matter and when arrests will be made, we will be letting you know. Our teams are on the ground,” he added.
