In Haryana, government jobs will no longer be available to individuals under 18 years of age, with candidates aged 18 to 42 years eligible for general category positions, while scheduled castes, backward classes, wives of soldiers disabled during military service, widowed or divorced women, and unmarried girls up to the age of 47 years are permitted to apply.Disabled employees will get a chance to join government service till the age of 52 years.
Notification has been issued by Anurag Rastogi, Additional Chief Secretary, Haryana Finance Department. Although the state government has already increased the minimum age limit for applying for government jobs from 17 years to 18 years, even then in some departments the minimum age limit for third and fourth class posts was 17 years. Following the new notification, departments will lose the ability to perform this action.
Now the minimum age limit for recruitment to all posts in all departments will be 18 years. Where, due to the nature of duties and the required qualifications for entry into Government service, the minimum age limit for direct recruitment to a particular post in a department is more than eighteen years or the maximum age is less than or more than 42 years, then the age will remain unchanged.
The order clarifies that for appointment to a post of Group A, B, C or D, the age of an ex-serviceman will be calculated by subtracting the actual period of military service and break up to three years from the actual age. The upper age limit of any category of applicant (except Ex-Servicemen) shall not exceed 52 years, irrespective of special relaxation.
