A youth attempted suicide on Monday near the New OPD in Chandigarh PGI. The young man tried to cut his neck with a knife. Upon witnessing the youth’s condition, bystanders promptly informed the police about the incident. Sector-11 police station and PGI Chowki police personnel promptly arrived at the scene upon receiving the information. The police admitted the blood-soaked young man, who was in critical condition, to PGI for treatment. The youth is reported to be a resident of Solan, Himachal Pradesh. The police are currently investigating the incident. It is reported that the young man attacked his neck several times with a sharp weapon with his own hands, after which he fell down, drenched in blood, and began writhing in pain. The police are investigating the reasons behind the young man’s self-inflicted injury. It is reported that the young man had come to PGI with a patient.
