Youngsters should be given more opportunities

If the Indian cricket team has to do some miracle in the World Cup, then the selection committee will have to take some drastic steps. I am unable to understand that if a player is not performing well despite getting frequent chances then why new player is not getting chance in his place. New selection committee must set a benchmark. Player’s reputation doesn’t matter, he must know how to seize opportunities. It would be better if you replace him and give chance to a new player. If you select established players over and over again then it is possible that the team will again have to depend on players like Mohammed Shami and Dinesh Karthik during the World Cup.
If we talk about New Zealand series, we could have gained a lot from this series but it did not happen. Talking about Rishabh Pant’s game, I like his game but if he wants to confirm his place then he needs to improve his performance. In T20 International cricket Pant has not been able to do justice to his performance so far. If we talk about the team management, you can keep making changes in the team management but the players have to perform well.
In bowling we need bowlers who can bowl at a speed of 140 kms. I cannot understand why we are not giving chance to Navdeep Saini. You are playing on New Zealand pitch and you have sent bowler like Saini on a tour with India A, then you are bound to face difficulties. Suryakumar Yadav plays at number 4 in the batting order, if you compromise with his position just to save Pant’s place then it would not be good for the team. Every player has his own skill which should not be tampered with just like Washington Sundar who cannot be treated as a batting all-rounder instead of bowling all-rounder. It is very important to elect a new selection committee as soon as possible because if these important things are not implemented, then we will continue to struggle in the World Cup like this.
