Various important sites in Kanpur, Mathura, and Fatehpur have detailed plans prepared by the Uttar Pradesh government, as part of its ongoing efforts to preserve and restore significant cultural, historical, and spiritual heritage sites. According to a release, the government will shortly begin the process of conserving and restoring the Rasik Bihari Temple in Shivrajpur, Fatehpur, the Raja Sitaram Mahal in Mathura, and the Maharishi Valmiki Ashram in Bithoor, Kanpur. To handle the restoration and preservation work on these sites, the Uttar Pradesh Department of Archaeology has already opened the e-tendering process to applications from interested organizations. Maharishi Valmiki’s ashram in Bithoor is scheduled to receive Rs 1.52 crore from the Yogi government for preservation and restoration.
