During intellectual conferences in Pilibhit, Uttar Pradesh, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath praised the effective governance of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) both at the central and state levels.

“You must have seen India before 2014, there was distrust in the minds of common people towards the government, farmers were committing suicide, youth were migrating, extremism and terrorism were spreading and no one felt safe,” said CM Yogi.

“Today Naxalism, extremism and terrorism have ended, food providers no longer commit suicide, youth do not migrate, daughters do not feel unsafe but become fighter pilots,” he added.

He also mentioned that Uttar Pradesh witnessed riots in areas like Saharanpur, Muzaffarnagar, Bareilly, and Moradabad, causing distress to residents, particularly affecting the safety of women and businessmen.

Hailing Prime Minister Narendra Modi, he said, “Today when we are in 2024, we are seeing the respect of India increasing in the world. We proudly say that we belong to a country where people like Modi lead.”

He remarked that this reflects a transformed India, emphasizing the improved law and order situation in Uttar Pradesh.

“Today we are seeing a new India, there is security and prosperity. No more curfews are there, and Kanwar Yatra also starts with much enthusiasm,” he added.

Significantly, Uttar Pradesh, which holds the distinction of sending the highest number of MPs, 80, to Parliament, will participate in voting across all seven phases.

Voting for phases one and two is scheduled for April 19 and April 26 respectively. Subsequently, phases three and four will take place on May 7 and May 13. The Uttar Pradesh electorate will then participate in phases five, six, and seven on May 20, May 23, and June 1 respectively. Vote counting is slated for June 4.
