New Delhi, May 15: Wrestlers protesting against alleged sexual misconduct by BJP MP Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh on Monday vowed to take their protest much beyond Jantar Mantar, they said that they would take a big call after 21 May if the government remains ‘non responsive’ to their concerns.

In a bid to garner support for their protest from across the nation, the wrestlers announced a phone number- 9053903100, people can give a missed call at this number to extend their support to the wrestler protest.

Vinesh Phogat, calling their protest a fight for the daughters of India said that they would extend the ambit of the protest “We would take our protest beyond Jantar Mantar, because we are feeling that our protest site is being turned into a jail- we want to take it to all the people as this is the fight for the daughters of India, today we would reach Connaught Place and tell our story to the people, and ask for their support.”

The decorated wrestler said that if by 21 May, they don’t get a favourable response from the government, they would be forced to take a big call “If by May 21, there is no response from the side of the government, we would take a big call, whether it be the women’s groups of Delhi or Student organisations and farmer associations we are in touch with them and after May 21 we would take a big call,” say wrestler.

Rio Olympics bronze medalist Sakshi Malik said that they planned to make the protest international “We would make this fight international, we would write to foreign Olympians and champion sportspersons to extend their support to us.”

Malik thanked the press for their support and requested that some of the press persons should stay at the protest venue at night as untoward incidences have been taking place at the venue.

“I thank the media for its support and request members of the press to stay at the night as well as yesterday also an attempt was made to undo our protest, just like the incident that took place when we were arranging the our bedding, you had supported us you took our side of the story the nation, so please take or point to the entire nation.”

Vinesh Phogat added that at night some suspicious people including some ladies are entering into the protest site to spend the night, she said that they are being watched and stalked by these unknown people.

The wrestlers were joined in their protest by Former Governor of Jammu & Kashmir Satya Pal Malik, National president of the Bhim Army Chandrashekhar Azad besides a host of farmer leaders.
