Jerusalem [Israel], December 9: The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) launched airstrikes on Hezbollah terrorists in southern Lebanon on Sunday, citing ceasefire violations and growing threats to national security.
Strikes on Hezbollah’s Weapons Warehouse
An Israel Air Force aircraft, directed by the IDF’s 98th Paratroopers Division fire centre, carried out a precision strike on a weapons warehouse operated by Hezbollah terrorists in southern Lebanon. According to the IDF, these terrorists had been actively planning and executing attacks against Israeli forces and civilians over recent months.
IDF Actions to Neutralize Threats
In addition to the warehouse strike, the IDF targeted several Hezbollah operatives in southern Lebanon who posed an immediate threat to Israeli security. The military emphasized that these actions were necessary to uphold safety and deter further aggression from Hezbollah.
Ceasefire Violations Escalate Tensions
The strikes come amid ongoing tensions between Israel and Hezbollah, with both sides accusing the other of undermining the fragile ceasefire agreement. The IDF has reiterated its commitment to protecting Israeli citizens and maintaining regional stability while holding Hezbollah accountable for its hostile actions.
