Simon Wong, the high commissioner of Singapore to India, wished Team India luck on Sunday ahead of their World Cup 2023 final matchup against five-time world champions Australia. Most people celebrate Chhath in states like Uttar Pradesh, Jharkhand, and Bihar. People fast, take river baths, and pray during the celebration to give thanks to the Sun God for granting their wishes and providing the blessings of life on Earth. Offerings are made to the god Surya/Bhaskar (Sun) and goddess Chhath (Chhathi Maiya), and prayers are said for blessings. It is thought that blessings would come from a person’s deepest desires and prayers. Merely foods deemed pure are consumed during the fasting period, and hygiene is one of the most important considerations.

India stormed into the final of the ongoing edition of the quadrennial showpiece after going unbeaten in the league phase of the tournament and registering a comprehensive 70-run victory over New Zealand in the semifinal on Wednesday.
After Rohit Sharma and Shubman Gill’s explosive start, Virat Kohli and Shreyas Iyer scored a ton each to put India on course to a massive target.
KL Rahul arrived to apply the finishing touches to power India to a score of 397/4. Mohammed Shami’s spell saw him clinch a seven-wicket haul to derail the Kiwis and seal India’s trip to Ahmedabad.

India is attempting to win their third title and exact revenge for the devastating defeat to the formidable Australians that fateful day in Johannesburg. They advanced to the finals after defeating New Zealand by 70 runs in the Mumbai semifinal.
