In a recent operation, Madhya Pradesh police uncovered an illegal arms factory in the district of Morena, following the circulation of a viral video showing a woman cleaning pistols with soap.

The video, which gained widespread attention on social media, features a woman in a saree scrubbing a homemade pistol with soap and a brush to polish it.

Acting on the video, the police conducted a raid on a residence in the Ganeshpura area late Friday night. According to Pawan Singh, the in-charge of Mahua police station, this location had been operating the illegal arms factory for the past six months.

During the raid, authorities seized three homemade pistols, several partially assembled weapons, and a variety of other equipment and materials related to the illegal production.

Additionally, police arrested Shakti Kapoor Sakhwar and his father Biharlal Sakhwar, who are accused of running the illegal factory. They appeared in court on Saturday, where Biharlal was remanded to jail and Shakti was placed in one-day police custody for further questioning. The case has been registered under the Arms Act, and the police are investigating the origins of the weapons.

In a separate incident, a Tihar jail official faced suspension after a video surfaced of him brandishing a pistol at a party. The 18-second clip shows Deepak Sharma, an assistant superintendent of police at Mandoli Jail, dancing to the Bollywood song “Khalnayak Hoon Main” while displaying a pistol. Sharma has been suspended, and an inquiry has been initiated by the superintendent of Jail Number 15, where Sharma was stationed.
