In Madhya Pradesh’s Indore district, a 35-year-old woman, Jyoti Kudariya, was apprehended for kidnapping an eight-year-old girl near her house in the Raoji Bazar police station area. The incident occurred on Sunday evening, prompting a swift response from the police, who used CCTV footage to locate and recover the abducted child. According to Assistant Commissioner of Police Devendra Singh Dhurve, during the investigation, it was revealed that Jyoti had borrowed Rs 85,000 from a women’s group facilitated by the victim’s mother, Anita Sharma. As Jyoti faced difficulty repaying the loan, Anita repeatedly contacted her.

Feeling distressed, Jyoti devised a plan to kidnap Anita’s daughter and demand a ransom of Rs 4 lakh. The police, assisted by local residents and CCTV footage, traced Jyoti’s actions and discovered that she had lured the girl away. Further investigation led the police to a room in Jyoti’s neighborhood, where the abducted child was found with her hands and legs tied. The police rescued the girl and returned her to her family. A kidnapping case was registered against Jyoti, who was subsequently arrested. The motive behind the kidnapping was revealed to be financial strain and the inability to repay the borrowed amount.
