With an increase of 176368 voters including transgenders , foreigners, overseas (NRIs) and service artists from all 90 assembly constituencies, Haryana has witnessed a spurt in voters from 1965824 in January 2023 to 19834602 voters in January 2024. According to the official data received from the Election Commission, as far as the 10 Lok Sabha constituencies of the state are concerned, Gurugram Lok Sabha constituency emerges as the largest constituency in the state in terms of voters with a total of 2505345 voters and Gurugram Lok Sabha constituency includes all four assembly constituencies of present Gurugram district – Gurgaon, Sohna, Badshahpur and Pataudi, three assembly constituencies of Mewat (Nuh) district – Nuh, Firozpur, Jhirka and Punhana and Bawal and Rewari assembly constituencies falling under Rewari district. . The number of voters in these four assembly constituencies increased from 1305282 January 2023 to 1390147 in January 2024 and in this respect, 84865 voters have increased in these four constituencies. According to the latest data, Badshahpur assembly constituency falling under Gurugram district is the largest assembly in Haryana with 463549 voters.
Faridabad is the second largest Lok Sabha constituency with 2360983 voters. Faridabad Lok Sabha seat consists of 6 assembly constituencies of Faridabad district – Prithla, Faridabad NIT, Badkhal, Ballabhgarh, Faridabad and Tigaon and three assembly constituencies of Palwal district – Hathin, Hodal and Palwal. In January, 2023, the number of voters of 6 assembly constituencies of Faridabad district was 1653198, which has now increased to 1678826. witnessing an increase of 25628. voters.
Likewise, Karnal is the third largest Lok Sabha constituency with 20780007 voters and it comprises five assembly constituencies of Karnal district — Karnal, Nilokheri, Indri, Gharaunda and Assandh while four assembly constituencies of Panipat district — Panipat Urban, Panipat Rural, Israna and Samalkha. In January, 2023, the number of voters of 5 assembly constituencies of Karnal district was 1169 213, which has now increased to 1185 797. Thus, in the last one year the number of voters in Karnal district has increased by 16584. However, on the other hand, voters in Panipat district have decreased by 2685 in the last one year.
Similarly, Ambala Lok Sabha constituency which is the fourth largest with 1978278 voters includes four assembly constituencies of Ambala district – Ambala City, Ambala Cantt, Narayangarh and Mullana and two of Panchkula district – Kalka and Panchkula and Jagadhri, Yamunanagar, Sadhaura constituencies of Yamunanagar district. In January, 2023, the number of voters in 4 assembly constituencies of Ambala district was 900466, which has now reduced to 869779. After Ambala, Sirsa is the largest Lok Sabha constituency where there are 1924259 voters. This constituency includes all five assembly constituencies of Sirsa district – Kalanwali, Dabwali, Raniyan, Sirsa and Ellenabad, three of Fatehabad district – Ratia, Tohana and Fatehabad and Narwana assembly constituency of Jind district. Divulging more details regarding this, Hemant Kumar, an advocate and expert in Haryana High Court, said that although the Election Law (Amendment) Act, 2021 was passed by the Parliamentary December, 2021, which was implemented from August 1, 2022.
