In the run up to the Lok Sabha polls, the BJP is on toes to accomplish its mission 2024 and in order to fulfill the same, the party high command has directed the Haryana BJP to ensure victory on all 10 parliamentary seats with sizable margin. Ahead of the polls, with several party heavyweights believed to be disgruntled due to different factors, the state BJP is constantly keeping an eye on those leaders. In this context, BJP bigwigs and the Union Minister of State Rao Inderjeet’s praise by the Prime Minister Narendra Modi while addressing a gathering in Rewari rally, led to new political speculations in the state politics. Due to this, Rao Inderjit, who has been suffering back to back setbacks within the party for a long time, has got a boost before the forthcoming parliamentary and assembly polls.
It is pertinent to mention that Rao Inderjeet was believed to be upset with the state BJP leadership due to different reasons especially denial of ticket to his daughter Aarti Rao in polls in 2019 along with getting his arch rivals the key posts in the party’s organisational set up. Notably, during his address by calling Rao Inderjeet a friend, Narerder Modi said that he speaks less but the work he sets out to do, he completes. The way PM Modi has praised Rao Inderjit, it has given a boost to Rao Inderjeet

By the conduct of Rewari rally, the BJP is coming up with efforts to strengthen its position 14 seats in different districts of Haryana falling in Southern Haryana including Narnaul, Nangal Chaudhary, Gurugram, Sohna, Badshahpur, Pataudi, Nuh, Rewari, Bawal, Kosli, Mahendragarh, Firozpur Jhirka and Punhana. For some time now, Haryana Congress has also increased its activism in South Haryana and Congress stalwarts are continuously on toes to get a shot in the arm in Ahirwal belt. Having widespread acceptability and influence on around a dozen assembly seats in South Haryana known as Ahirwal belt, BJP stalwart Rao Inderjeet. emerges as one of the prominent leaders in the state politics. Seeing his stature, the BJP has fielded Rao Inderjit Singh twice from Gurugram Lok Sabha seat in a row in 2014 and 2019 on BJP ticket and contested the polls successfully and was given the portfolio Minister of State in the Central Government. Rao Inderjit Singh left Congress and joined BJP even before the Lok Sabha elections in 2014. Thus, in view of Rao Inderjeet’s stronghold in Ahirwal belt, the BJP does not seem in a position to neglect him ahead of polls as it can result in huge political loss on part of the BJP. It is noteworthy that Rao Inderjeet Singh has his own support base from Gurugram to Nangal Choudhary. But for a long time has been building pressure on the state as well as central leadership to fulfill his political ambitions and seeking a ticket for his daughter Aarti Rao to carry forward his political legacy but due to Rao’s pressure politics, BJP has been giving back to back blows to Rao Inderjeet Singh to weaken hin in Ahirwal belt ahead of polls. His arch-rivals namely Bhupnder Yadav, Sudha Yadav, Santosh Yadav, Arvind Yadav and Randhi Kapdiwas have been given prominent positions in the state in a bid to decentralise power in south Haryana. Political experts opine that be it main ruling Bharatiya Janta Party (BJP)and it ally Jannayak Janta Party (JJP) or Congress, the main opposition party or Indian National Lok Dal or Aam Aadmi Party (AAP), no political faction seems in a position to neglect the importance of Ahirwal Belt Rao Inderjeet is believed to be upset with the party and has been suffering setbacks few last month as several arch rivals of his have been given berth in organisational set up in the state as well in centre adding to his woes.

Disgruntled with his negligence in the Congress, he had quit the party and joined the saffron BJP ahead of parliamentary polls in 2014. Further, Rao Inderjit Singh contested elections from Gurugram Lok Sabha seat twice in a row in 2014 and 2019 on BJP ticket marking victory by huge margin and both the times, he was given a berth in the central cabinet and appointed as Minister of State in the Central Government.
