New Delhi: India detected 36,595 new cases of coronavirus in the last 24 hours, taking its overall tally to over 95.71 lakh. Active cases have further dropped to 4.16 lakh, and 90,16,289 people have recovered so far with almost 43,000 recoveries reported in the last 24 hours. With 540 new deaths, the toll mounted to 1,39,188. Maharashtra, Karnataka, and Andhra Pradesh have reported the highest number of cases. However, infections are rising rapidly in states like Tamil Nadu, Kerala and Uttar Pradesh.
Delhi reported 4,067 fresh Covid-19 cases, 4,862 recoveries, and 73 deaths in the past 24 hours. The total numbers of cases and recovered cases are 5,86,125 and 5,48,376 respectively. Death toll hiked up to 9,497.
With 591 new Covid-19 cases, the overall infection of Maharashtra mounted to 2,30,722. As the virus claimed the lives of seven patients during the day, the death toll went up to 5,709. The recovery rate has reached 94.34%, and the mortality rate is 2.47%. The number of active cases is 7,358 at present.
Karnataka reported 1247 fresh coronavirus cases, 877 recoveries, and 13 deaths in the past 24 hours. The total numbers of cases and recovered cases are 8,90,360 and 8,53,461 respectively. The death toll rose to 11,834
Andhra Pradesh reported 599 fresh Covid-19 cases, 913 recoveries, and six deaths in the past 24 hours. The total numbers of cases and recovered cases are 8,70,675 and 8,57,233 respectively. The death toll rose to 7020.
Kerala reported 5,718 fresh coronavirus cases, and 5,496 recoveries in the past 24 hours. The total numbers of active cases and recovered cases are 61,401 and 5,61,874 respectively.
