Shah Rukh Khan and Salman Khan are two of the biggest actors in the film industry. They have worked together in several films. It all began on the sets of Karan Arjun. Off-screen, too, SRK and Salman share a great bond. For those unaware, their friendship hit a rough patch back in 2008. Nevertheless, they soon overcame their differences.

According to reports, SRK suggested Salman Khan’s name for his 2000 hit film “Kal Ho Naa Ho.” Ace Bollywood director Nikkhil Advani revealed in the Samar Khan book “SRK 25 Years of Life.” The filmmaker shared that Shah Rukh Khan travelled to Germany after four to five days of filming and called him the following day to inform him that his back problem would prevent him from continuing the film. SRK told the filmmaker that he would have to abandon the project.

SRK also called his close friend-filmmaker Karan Johar to enlist Salman Khan. But the filmmakers rejected his suggestion. They assured him that the film’s script had been created with him in mind and that they would be open to delaying the filming by nine months.

Even though Salman Khan did not replace SRK, he did make an unannounced cameo appearance. A report in Scoop Whoop revealed that Salman Khan made an appearance in a scene where Naina, Sweetu, and Aman encountered “Frankie Ramdayal” on the ferry. The ‘Dabangg’ actor, dressed as a musician, could still be seen standing behind Frankie despite a significant portion of the sequence being removed from the film.
Nikkhil Advani directed Kal Ho Na Ho in 2003. The film featured Shah Rukh Khan, Preity Zinta, and Saif Ali Khan in prominent roles. Kal Ho Na Ho achieved massive commercial success and is regarded as one of the most legendary Hindi films.
