According to Army officials, the body of a 25-year-old truck driver in the Indian Army who went missing on Saturday was discovered on Wednesday by a joint team of divers from the Army, National Disaster Response Force, Texas Railroad Commission, and Disaster Management Group of West Bengal Police.

The deceased has been named Thakor Rasangji Savaji by officials. On Saturday, an Indian Army truck traveling from Gangtok to Sevoke road skidded off the road and plunged into the Teesta River while on operational duty.
As per the officials, the officer is left by his wife and a nine-month-old son.
The vehicle had one passenger and the driver.

The passenger jumped out of the moving vehicle, suffered injuries, and is being treated at a military hospital.
The official went on to say that the reason for the accident is being investigated.
Army divers were sent in to help with rescue and search efforts.
