The Weather Department has issued a warning for dense fog for the next two days, advising caution. As per weather predictions, the cold is expected to intensify further. Consequently, there is an anticipated decrease in temperatures, impacting daily life. Additionally, chances of rain have been forecasted in various states of Northern India, including a possibility of light rain in Punjab. The warning about heavy rain in neighboring states will also affect Punjab’s weather.

The difference of 5 degrees between minimum and maximum temperatures indicates worsening weather conditions. Hence, extreme caution is necessary due to the significant temperature difference between day and night, as the bone-chilling cold can be perilous with slight negligence. Experts recommend covering exposed body parts, especially feet, head, and ears while going outdoors in such weather. Cold directly impacting the throat and chest poses a risk of fever. Therefore, wearing a helmet while riding a two-wheeler is advisable. Protecting the nose and mouth with a warm cap and a mask will prevent adverse effects.

Meanwhile, due to cloud cover, there was no sunlight today, and instead, there was an increase in cold. The bone-chilling cold is affecting daily routines and causing considerable disruption. People commuting for work amidst heavy cold are facing tremendous challenges. Those living on roadsides are also experiencing adverse effects due to the cold. Highways and external areas are witnessing an increase in fire instances.

External areas are affected due to fog, causing traffic disturbances. Two-wheel drivers are observed struggling against gusts of wind. The recent change in weather in the metropolis, with the sun shining yesterday, had brought relief from the cold. However, the cold is intensifying again.
