This week WE WOMEN WANT focuses ON MENSTRUAL HYGIENE with RACHNA GUPTA – CO-FOUNDER GYNOVEDA, MADAN MOHIT BHARADWAJ – FOUNDER SHEWINGS HEALTHCARE andDR ANURADHA KHURRANA – MBBS DGO.

The panel discusses issues related to female health, focussing on menstruation, PCOD, delayed and irregular periods and other health related problems. On any given day about 300 million women worldwide are menstruating while as many as 500 million lack access to basic menstrual products and facilities. Madan Mohit talks about how She Wings distributes pads amongst the rural and low income homes and also how they have come up with a pad for minor girls for one size doesnt quite fit all. Rachna talks about the solutions that are available in ayurveda to find permanent cures for women related issues and as she says it is not inconceivable that something as natural as menstruation should be painful. There are cures available that dont have side effects.

Dr Anuradha gives simple tips on vaginal health.e Women Want is a weekly show that explores issues that concern most women cutting across demographics. The show has dealt with issues ranging from body shaming, domestic violence, laws that help women (and also those that don’t), women’s health from reproduction to menstruation including breast cancer and IVF, acid attack survivors, domestic violence and women in the workplace. The show, moderated by Priya Sahgal, Snr Executive Editor at ITV Network, is fast becoming a support group for women.
