Former Chief Minister and Leader of Opposition Bhupinder Singh Hooda he would work to change the government, based on the power of support of the people. He said there is no need to tell anyone anything about the state of affairs of Haryana as people themselves are victims and know exactly what is wrong in the state.

He said not a day passes when there is no murder, robbery or threat of ransom and Central government’s own figures show that Haryana has become the most unsafe state in the last 9 years. Haryana, which was number 1 in per capita income, per capita investment, job creation and law and order, is today number 1 in the entire country in unemployment, inflation and crime.

Hooda was speaking at the Jan Aakrosh Rally organized by the Congress Party in the new grain market of Hodal, where the crowd broke all the records till now and the entire area was overflowing with people. The enthusiasm in the crowd indicated the keenness for change in the state.

Speaking at the rally, Hooda said the present coalition government has stopped all the welfare schemes that were running for the poor during the time of our government. “When the Congress government comes to power in the state, monthly old age pension would be increased to Rs 6000, 300 units of free electricity per month. LPG cylinder will be given for Rs 500, and we will start permanent recruitment on 2 lakh vacant government posts, and will provide permanent jobs to those who are presently working as temporary employees,” he said.

“We will restart the scheme of 100 yards free plots and will provide government assistance to build a 2-room house on it. The creamy layer income limit of backward class will be increased from Rs 6 lakh to Rs 10 lakh. Will make a yellow card for every poor person. The Padak Lao, Pad Pao Yojna would be implemented again,” he promised.

The Leader of Opposition said that due to the wrong policies of this government the gap between the rich and the poor has increased. “The BJP government had said that it will double the income of farmers by 2022, but the income did not double, the input costs of the farmer more than doubled. The weight of the fertilizer bag was reduced. Farmers do not even get MSP,” he said.

“Till 2014, grains from neighboring states were sold in Hodal, because MSP was available here. Earlier, Diesel was cheaper in Haryana than Delhi, but today the reverse is happening. People were trapped in the hassle of property ID, family identity card, Meri Fasal, Mera Byora,” he pointed out.

“Through Haryana Skill Employment Corporation, Agneepath Yojana, temporary jobs are being given instead of permanent government jobs. These jobs neither have pension, nor future security. There is a fraud at a massive scale as crores of Rupees were seized in HPSC offices, where scams are taking place in recruitments,’ he stated.

While addressing the rally, state Congress president Udaibhan said today the message of Hodal’s Jan Aakrosh Rally has gone across Haryana. “People have made up their mind to teach a lesson to liars in the upcoming elections,” he said.

Referring to previous false promises of BJP, he said the BJP had promised farmers will be given price at C2 + 50, MSP, and double income by 2022. They promised roof for every person, the said black money will be brought back in 100 days and Rs 15 lakh will be given to every person in 100 days,” he said.

“They also made false promises of reducing inflation, building 100 smart cities, selling diesel at Rs 35 a liter and cylinders at Rs 250, creating 2 crore jobs every year. Instead of 20 crore jobs in 10 years, only 7 lakh 30 thousand jobs were provided and by implementing demonetization, employment of 12 crore people was taken away,” he added.

“Lakhs of factories across the country were closed. Today everything, land, water and sky, is being sold. From airport to railway station, coal mines, everything is being handed over to an industrialist. Those who talk about showing red eyes to China, are trembling in front of China today. Those who raised slogans of Beti Bachao Beti Padhao, dragged our wrestler daughters on the streets,” he said.

Enumerating many false promises of the Chief Minister of Haryana, he said that a bridge across the Yamuna was announced in Hasanpur, but the work has not started till date. “Crores of Rupees were embezzled from the funds received for Hodal Sati Sarovar. Many announcements were made including construction of a bus stand in Hodal but all these announcements proved to be white lies,” he said, talking about local issues.

The state Congress chief said that the Hooda government of Congress made Palwal a district, on the demand of the people here, and Mini Secretariat in Palwal, Hodal Judiciary Complex, Mandi built on 100 acres in Hodal. ITI and sub-station built. It was the Hooda government that started the metro till Ballabhgarh, Gurgaon and Bahadurgarh,” he pointed out.

“Many development works including 4 power plants, 12 universities, 6 new medical colleges, Badhsa AIIMS, ESI Hospital, YMCA University were done in the state. Electricity bills worth Rs 1600 crore waived off. Cooperative loans worth Rs 2200 crores were waived off, loans of Harijan and Backward Corporations worth Rs 485 crores were waived off. Plots of 100 yards were given to 3.82 lakh poor families. The government gave scholarship to 22 lakh children. During the Hooda government, the fee for medical studies which was Rs 40,000 per year, but this was increased to Rs 40 lakh per year. A child of a poor person cannot become a doctor,” he said.

MP Deepender Hooda, elated by the presence of people in the Jan Aakrosh Rally, said that today’s public meeting is a symbol of the fact that Hodal has also made up his mind for change. He said the pairing of Ch. Bhupinder Singh Hooda and Ch. Udaibhan’ is charismatic and the Congress has made rapid gains under the leadership of Ch Udaibhan.

Alleging maximum corruption in Haryana, Deepender said today Haryana has also become number 1 in corruption. Prominent in the Jan Aakrosh rally were former state president Dharampal Malik, working president Jitendra Bhardwaj, MLA Aftab Ahmed, former minister Karan Singh Dalal, former speaker Ashok Arora, MLA Jagbir Malik, MLA BL Saini, MLA Neeraj Sharma, MLA Induraj Narwal, MLA Maman.
