AAP Rajyasabha M.P. Raghav Chadha, while speaking at the India News Manch, said that the Aam Aadmi Party is with the I.ND.I.A. block. He added that this alliance is to provide the voters with an alternative to the B.J.P., and on the recent defeat in three states, he said that there is a difference between assembly elections and national elections and that there is no direct comparison between both. On talking about the strategy to combat B.J.P. in general elections, he said that a single alliance candidate in each constituency against the NDA›s candidate is what the alliance is planning, and its execution will result in a good mandate in favour of the I.N.D.I.A. alliance. While D.K. Shivkumar, Deputy Chief Minister of Karnataka, is also confident about this, Speaking at the same event, he said the I.N.D.I.A. alliance will have a meeting as the state assembly elections are over and we are confident of a good electoral mandate in favour of the alliance.
Chadda also compared this alliance with the Janta Party alliance, which ensured the Congress party was out of power. The same scenario is here, and with adequate strategy, we can ensure the BJP›s defeat in the 2024 general elections. Reacting to this statement, Rana Yashwant, Editor in Chief, India News, said the situation at that time and now is not the same as the country not undergoing any emergency rule, which was the case at that time.
On talking about the welfare and Modi›s guarantee, a factor that ensured the BJP›s victory in Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, and Chhattisgarh, Chadda said that it was the AAP that coined these guarantees, and later both Congress and BJP copied them. As we say, «We came not to do politics but to change politics.»Speaking on the guarantees, D.K. Shivkumar said, We have started implementing our guarantees one by one from the first day we came to power. The Congress Party is committed to providing social security to every person in Karnataka. The appointment of Chief Election Commissioner, which was recently passed by Rajya Sabha, Chadha said the bill is intended to make the appointment of Chief Election Commissioner impartial. Because people trust the Election Commission because of its impartiality and the changes being made through this bill, the appointment process will not remain impartial. Earlier, the appointment of the CEC was done through a committee comprised of the Prime Minister, the Leader of the Opposition, and the Chief Justice. With the coming of a new bill, the Chief Justice will be replaced by the Cabinet Minister. Due to this, the government will have a majority as the PM and Cabinet Minister are both part of the government, which questions the impartial process of appointment, said Chadha.
