The second teaser for the web series ‘Dune: Prophecy’ was released on Thursday evening. The 1-minute-10-seconds teaser, which is part of the HBO original series expanding on the Dune films, also features the highly anticipated debut of Tabu as Sister Francesca.

Dune: Prophecy teaser

‘Dune: Prophecy’ delves thousands of years into the past from the setting of the Dune films, centering on the Bene Gesserit. In the teaser, Emily Watson’s character Valya Harkonnen declares, “Sacrifices must be made,” illustrating how the Bene Gesserit train their sisters to wield power and maintain absolute control over their minds. The video portrays the challenges faced by the sisterhood as they strive to attain the formidable status depicted in the films, despite their influence over those in authority, who often resist their power.

Tabu’s first look

In the teaser, Tabu appears briefly as Sister Francesca, dressed in black with a cape, standing confidently with folded arms and facing the camera. Although her character remains silent in the teaser, her costume conveys a strong sense of authority. Future promotional materials may reveal more about her role in the ongoing power dynamics within the Imperium. A report from Variety in May described Tabu’s character as ‘strong, intelligent, and captivating’.
