Phylisa Wisdom, director of the New York Jewish Agenda, emphasized that diplomatic efforts are essential to ending the conflict. The protesters also demanded the release of Israeli hostages taken by Hamas in October 2023, with signs urging “Bring the hostages home” and “End the war.”
In a separate demonstration, over 300 pro-Palestinian protesters gathered near the New York Public Library, criticizing Netanyahu and calling for an end to US military aid to Israel. Many carried signs denouncing Netanyahu as a war criminal, calling for him to be tried at the International Criminal Court.
