French pole vaulter Anthony Ammirati has become an unexpected online sensation following an unusual incident at the Paris Olympics 2024. Ammirati’s Olympic bid ended dramatically when his attempt at clearing a 5.70m height was thwarted by his own body. His bulge knocked down the bar, costing him a spot in the finals, as reported by The New York Post.
Despite the disappointment, Anthony Ammirati now has an opportunity to capitalize on his viral moment. Pornographic website CamSoda has offered him a lucrative deal worth $250,000 (over ₹2 crore) for a one-hour webcam show.

CamSoda’s vice president, Daryn Parker, expressed admiration for Ammirati’s unintentional reveal. “If it was up to me, I’d award Anthony Ammirati for what everyone else saw – talent below the belt,” Parker told TMZ. He added, “As a lover of crotch-centric activities, I’d love to offer you up to $250,000 in exchange for a 60-minute webcam show, in which you show off your goods, minus the crossbar, of course.”
Ammirati’s Olympic dreams came to an abrupt end on August 3, when his attempt at 5.70m failed. The footage of the incident went viral, showing what appeared to be his penis getting caught on the bar. The French athlete finished 12th in his group, missing out on the finals.
Reflecting on the event, Ammirati expressed his frustration to the French Athletics Federation. “It’s a big disappointment,” he said. “I’m a bit gutted because I didn’t miss anything on the third attempt at 5.70m. What I did miss was a bit of jumping in training to fine-tune the settings. Just a technical session.”
He continued, “I was 100 percent physically, but I was missing a bit of pole vault. The conditions were good. It’s the first time I’ve started a competition without any stress. As I was a total outsider, I only had one goal: to interact with the audience. I was almost there.”
