Reporting a second such incident within a week, a small bridge collapsed in Bihar’s Siwan district on saturday morning.
The bridge which extended across the canal and connected villages in Daraunda and Maharajganj blocks.
Fortunately, nobody was injured during the incident. According to DM, structure wise, the bridge is old and apparently, pillars crumbled when water was released via the canal.
Currently, they are trying to restore the bridge as early as possible.

According to Maharajganj sub-divisional magistrate Anil Kumar, this 20-foot-long bridge was constructed utilizing the MLA’s development fund. He also announced, that action will be taken on the basis of investigative report.
Earlier on Tuesday, a newly built bridge, which was 182 metre long got collapsed in sikti at Bihar’s Araria district, before inauguration.
So far, the rural public works department has initiated action against officials, who were responsible for bridge’s collapse.
