Recently, Aamir Khan Productions’ official account (previously Twitter) shared the initial audition clip of Darsheel when they were casting for the lead role of Ishaan. Aamir Khan reminisced how Darsheel’s raw emotional talent immediately set him apart in this endearing new clip.
The video shows a close-up of Darsheel’s face as he gets ready for a school day. Dressed in his school uniform, he appears distracted in the classroom until the teacher calls his name. Realizing he’s being addressed, he promptly opens his notebook as instructed.

In a voiceover, Aamir says, ‘Mujhe yaad hein Darsheel ka maine jab test dekha… jaha Darsheel ka pehla shot aya aur usne dialogue bhi nahi bola tha. Aur mujhe yaad hein uska chehra dekh ke uski aankhein dekh ke maine kaha, ‘Ye bachcha hain! Yeh Ishaan hain.’ (This is the kid! This is Ishaan)” Following that, the video presents a montage of scenes from the movie showcasing Darsheel in his role as Ishaan.
