YouTuber Mithilesh Backpacker recently recounted a distressing event that occurred in Udaipur, Rajasthan, where his Russian wife faced harassment in public. In a video published on his channel, Mithilesh explained how a group of men followed his family and made inappropriate remarks towards them. He captured one of these remarks on camera when a man said, “6,000 INR,” which infuriated him immensely. Mithilesh quickly confronted the man, condemning his disrespectful behavior towards his wife. He also noted that the harassment began before he started recording the incident, adding that palace security supposedly discouraged him from contacting the police.

Mithilesh narrated, “I went to the City Palace with my family. There was a group of boys following us. Lisa and I were walking when one of them commented, ‘Rab ne bana di jodi. ’ I initially ignored it, but they kept pursuing us, and I kept avoiding them. While filming a video of Lisa, and being aware of what 6000 INR means, I completely lost my temper. I stepped outside and said, ‘let’s call the police. ’”

“Fighting isn’t the answer, so I thought the police would take the right action. In the video, I challenged him and asked, ‘Why did you say that? ’ He admitted on camera that he was speaking to his friend and mentioned ‘6000 INR’ to him. This was both surprising and humiliating for me. I always advocate for tourism, sharing how lovely and safe India is. But when something like this happens to me, what do I say? ” Mithilesh added.

After Mithilesh posted the video, viewers expressed their outrage, urging the Rajasthan police to take strong action against the men involved. Many also shared their own similar experiences.

One user stated, “Chief Minister of Rajasthan and Tourism minister should take strict action against these individuals who eve tease and harass guests. ”

Another proposed, “Definitely you should file a police complaint, such occurrences should not be taken lightly, and it is deeply rooted in young Indian minds, and should be punished. ”

A comment expressed, “I have witnessed this behavior among people of my generation, and they make these types of jokes and the worst part is they laugh it off. I have tried to stop them, but they pause for a bit and resume again. It is very disgraceful for us. I can’t even defend my own country anymore. And then we query why we are experiencing racism from other nations. ”

One individual remarked, “You should file a complaint against that boy. Absurd to see how Indian youth are attempting to tarnish the image of India in the eyes of foreigners. ”

Another noted, “He should receive three years of imprisonment according to the IPC chapter 22 section 509. Arrest him. ”

The video has since accumulated over 2 lakh views on YouTube.
