Sadhus reacting angrily to YouTubers and content creators at Mahakumbh Mela are surfacing on social media. In the latest viral clip, a sadhu slapped a man for imitating his gesture of keeping one hand raised.
The video, shared on an X page with the caption, “Bro tried to copy baba and got a well-deserved slap,” shows a sadhu walking with one hand in the air. A man beside him mimics the gesture, prompting the sadhu to lose his temper and slap him before walking away.

The clip has received mixed reactions online. While some have supported the actions of the sadhu, others questioned the incident. A user commented, “Thappad kyu mara?” while another defended the sadhu saying, “Baba did the right thing, these people who are intoxicated with selfies and reels harass us. They should be beaten up.” Another wrote, “Bro got what he deserved.”
The Mahakumbh Mela is counted among the world’s biggest religious congregation with its deep mythological roots. The event is undertaken annually after every 12 years at the four locations, Ujjain, Haridwar, Nashik, and Prayagraj. It brings together saints, sadhus, and pilgrims seeking spiritual purification. The fair is being held in Prayagraj this year, while devotees are taking a holy dip at the confluence of the Ganges, Yamuna, and the mythical Sarasvati.
