A farewell celebration in Kota, Rajasthan, which was meant to celebrate the early retirement of a government employee, turned out to be a tragic event as his ailing wife collapsed and died during the celebration. The tragic incident has been captured on video and has left social media and the attendees shaken.
Early Retirement for Love and Care
It was a farewell for one of the managers at Central Warehousing Corporation, Devendra Sandal, who had taken early retirement to look after his wife Tina. Tina had been ailing with heart-related diseases for some time, forcing Devendra to take early retirement and devote his time towards her care.
Celebration turned into mourning
The event started with joy and festivity. The couple was garlanded, and rose petals adorned the table. Smiles and heartfelt moments were there as colleagues bid Devendra a warm goodbye.
However, the mood shifted abruptly when Tina expressed discomfort, saying, “Mujhe chakkar aa rahe hain” (I’m feeling dizzy). Devendra promptly helped her to a chair and began massaging her back while attendees rushed to bring water. Despite their efforts, Tina collapsed face-first onto the table shortly after faintly smiling for a photograph.
