The speedy delivery service Blinkit became the subject of a viral Reddit post when a man ordered the digital edition of the PlayStation 5 along with peanut butter and received an unexpected hing goli, or asafoetida tablet, as a free gift.
The Reddit user, who was surely entertained enough by the weird gift, was excited to share his incident on the comment section by writing “The best part was about buying it from Blinkit along with peanut butter.” The post soon started running into funny comments: nothing can say ‘gaming essentials’ like hing goli!
“Perhaps they thought the PS5 needed a little extra flavor to spice up the gaming experience.” Another one added, “Perhaps Blinkit is now adding cultural snacks to their tech bundles!
“And now, while others laughed and commented, “This is the kind of surprise I need in my life.”. The incident sparked widespread laughter across social media, with many celebrating the fun side of online shopping. One commenter even said, “I’m not sure if I’m laughing harder at the gift or the fact that it was actually delivered with the PS5! ”

This is not the first time Blinkit has been noticed due to an unsolicited delivery. In September 2024, one user had ordered men’s underwear but received women’s bikini briefs.

Blinkit has been in the news since it has partnered with Sony. The company last month partnered with Sony to sell PS5 consoles in India and said that they would deliver those consoles within 10 minutes to cities like Delhi NCR, Mumbai, and Bengaluru.
