Louis Vuitton Staff Forced To Count Rs 68.5 Lakh In Cash After ‘Disrespecting’ Woman

At a Louis Vuitton store in Chongqing, China, staff were forced to count 600,000 yuan (around Rs 68.5 lakh) in cash by a customer who bought nothing. This incident was a revenge act for what the woman, known as “Xiaomayouren” on Xiaohongshu (also called RED), perceived as an “insulting” experience during a previous visit in June.

Xiaomayouren had visited the Louis Vuitton store at StarLight Place shopping center hoping to view the latest luxury items. However, she felt slighted when staff showed her only older stock and dismissed her requests to see the new collection. Despite having a Hermes handbag, she was ignored and eventually left the store feeling disrespected.

After her complaint to Louis Vuitton headquarters went unanswered, Xiaomayouren decided to take revenge. Two months later, she returned to the store with a bag full of cash and pretended to be interested in several items. She had the staff count the 600,000 yuan in cash under the pretense of making a large purchase. After two hours of counting, Xiaomayouren revealed her true intention by stating, “We don’t want to buy now. We are leaving,” before walking out with her money.

Louis Vuitton China has not yet commented publicly on the incident.
